The bank was faced with the challenge of introducing a tool-assisted internal control system (ICS) with a view to optimizing its operational processes and meeting regulatory requirements.

• To select and implement the most suitable ICS software.
• To gain acceptance from all stakeholders involved and ensure that they understand the system.
• To prepare for the planned fulfillment of the ISAE 3402 standard.

To ensure that the IT project goes smoothly, we took over responsibility for project management and provided the following consulting and IT services:

• Requirement analysis and evaluation of ideal ICS software
• Introductory and training events for all stakeholders
• Production of a detailed user manual
• Preparation of the planned implementation of the ISAE 3402 standard, including compliance.

The bank succeeded in introducing the ideal internal control system, which was widely accepted by everyone involved. The chosen software meets all requirements and therefore also forms a solid foundation for future developments.

The skilled labor shortage has far-reaching implications for the laboratory sector. This means that companies are faced with the challenge of finding effective ways to optimize training for laboratory teams while reducing personnel turnover at the same time.

• To reduce personnel turnover and training costs through efficient training methods.
• To minimize bottlenecks in qualified personnel and lab equipment through alternative training approaches that require neither.
• To improve ESG performance by reducing energy and raw material consumption.

We set up a virtual reality (VR) environment for training laboratory staff without having to use the physical laboratories that are needed for work orders. Central to this was the integration of an AI-powered assistant in the form of a robot that was trained in accordance with production and safety requirements. This robot acts as an interactive expert that talks trainees through the processes while providing technical information and safety instructions.

These measures allow flexible training to be provided at any time or place, without the need for actual laboratories or input from specialist staff. This significantly reduced training costs, paving the way for further development stages in the project. The company was also able to improve its ESG performance greatly. On the back of this success, the project was nominated by the German AI Association for its Innovation Award, which we are very proud of.

Public authorities are under growing pressure because staff do not have enough time to answer recurring queries. This in turn causes breakdowns in communication with citizens.

As a result, the following tasks and objectives were defined:

• To automate routine tasks, thereby taking the pressure off staff.
• To improve efficiency when processing queries.
• To comply with the highest GDPR requirements.
• To ensure ongoing and effective communication.

Our IT consulting provided the following services:

• Defined use cases for developing solutions for routine tasks.
• Evaluated and selected the ideal AI infrastructure on an open source basis.
• Implemented an AI-powered chatbot on the website to deal with queries quickly.
• Set up an internal AI portal for providing assistance, including help with wording, text summaries and knowledge management through internal chatbots.

Implementing the citizen service chatbot and the internal AI portal helped greatly to optimize processes. The public authority is now able to ensure ongoing communication with citizens while permanently taking the strain off its staff. The open source components used comply with the extensive GDPR requirements.

After successfully introducing an information security management system (ISMS) for a vehicle manufacturer, we also took on responsibility for implementing the NIS2 guidelines.

The main objective was to fully implement the NIS2 security guidelines in order to further strengthen the company’s security standards.

To this end, we took over the project management, including regular stakeholder updates for implementing the NIS2 guidelines. This included gap analyses, workshops, implementing a reporting system for security incidents and registering the company with the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).

At the end of the project, the NIS2 compliance guidelines had been met efficiently, meaning that the company was ideally equipped to deal with future challenges. This case illustrates the importance of effective preparation and the value of long-term working relationships.

Before teaming up with a new strategic partner, it is essential to evaluate their IT set-up and possible risks. We were commissioned by a German bank to conduct a technical due diligence assessment of a potential merger partner’s IT infrastructure.

• To document in great detail the maturity of systems and processes.
• To identify security and IT risks and draw up a list of recommendations.
• To assess the risk associated with the IT infrastructure.

During the due diligence assessment, we used the following components of our IT consulting services:

• Extensive interviews to build up an exact picture of the current IT infrastructure and processes.
• Examination of existing internal documentation for assessing the system.
• Determining internal best practices.
• Verifying normal IT and security standards.
• Online research on potential incidents and irregularities within the IT infrastructure.
• Evaluating data flows, role and rights systems, and interfaces and checking them for weak points and risks.

On completion of the project, our examination and evaluation of the IT infrastructure and its processes led to an in-depth documentation of the maturity of the various systems. This meant that we were able to identify potential risks, set out recommendations and evaluate the risk associated with the overall IT infrastructure.
